Solana token launches hit an 80-day high and one meme coin is driving most of the excitement

Daily token creation on Solana has climbed to its highest level in nearly three months, powered by a single influencer-backed meme coin that briefly turned a $2,330 bet into $614,000.
The Solana meme coin machine is running hot again. According to data reported by Bitcoinist, daily token launches on the network reached an 80-day high heading into July, driven by renewed activity on Pump.fun and Raydium-linked programs. If you've been watching on-chain numbers, the timing isn't surprising. What is surprising is how much of the momentum traces back to one token and one person.
That token is ANSEM, branded as The Black Bull, and launched on Pump.fun in mid-June 2026. It surged roughly 26,000% in a week, running from a negligible market cap to somewhere above $60 million. A trader who put in $2,330 was reportedly worth $614,000 on paper at the peak, a 261x return that circulated widely enough to pull in the kind of attention that moves markets on its own. Crypto influencer Ansem, the Solana trader whose handle the coin borrows, announced he'd be airdropping creator fees from his Pump.fun profile directly to holders, framing it not as a token launch but as revenue redistribution. Those fees ran between roughly $200,000 and $378,000 in a single week, according to reporting from Crypto Times, which gave the pitch just enough substance to land.
The airdrop itself was messier. Crypto Times reported that seven wallets captured 74% of the $9.43 million distribution and began dumping almost immediately. Ansem has said the broader goal is growing the holder base from 25,000 to one million, with ongoing fee distributions funding the campaign. Whether that model holds depends almost entirely on whether the fee income keeps coming and whether holders keep believing it will.
What the numbers actually tell you
Zoom out from the ANSEM trade and the picture is one of a platform running on attention and reflexes. Pump.fun has now generated over 11.9 million tokens since its January 2024 launch and pulled in more than $800 million in cumulative revenue, per CoinGecko data. It ran a $1.3 billion ICO for its native PUMP token in July 2025. The infrastructure is real. The tokens it spawns are, in most cases, not.
ANSEM has no whitepaper, no team, no roadmap, and no utility behind it. Its price is a function of one influencer's continued involvement and the speculative reflexes of a market that has seen this exact pattern before. That's not a hidden caveat buried in the fine print. It's the whole product. The creator-fee framing is clever because it gives buyers a narrative that isn't just "number go up," but the underlying mechanics are identical to every other influencer-backed launch on the platform.
What's worth paying attention to is the signal the broader launch data sends. Eighty-day highs in daily token creation don't happen because of one trade or one airdrop. They happen because enough people believe conditions are right to build, speculate, or both. Solana's low transaction costs and Pump.fun's near-frictionless token creation mean the barrier to launching is essentially zero, which makes the volume data a decent proxy for retail sentiment returning to the market. It doesn't tell you which tokens survive, because almost none do, but it tells you appetite is back.
Frankly, the ANSEM trade is the kind of story that will draw more people into this cycle than any number of on-chain metrics would. A 261x return in a week, circulated across crypto Twitter, is a more effective advertisement for speculative token trading than anything the ecosystem's builders could design. The people who made that return knew what they were doing and got out. Most of the people the story recruits won't.
The seven wallets that captured nearly three-quarters of the airdrop and immediately sold make the distribution economics clear enough. If you're entering a Pump.fun launch after the narrative has already gone parabolic, you're not catching the wave, you're providing the exit.
